Betty J.Cottrell, 73, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2005 in the I.O.O.F Home. She was born in DeGraff, Ohio on March 7, 1932, the daughter of William Henry and Mabel Amanda (Felton) Bettis.

Betty was a member of Clifton Avenue Church of God, Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliary, and she enjoyed painting. Betty had been the manager of the Hard Times Café.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Donald E. Cottrell; five brothers, and three sisters.

Her survivors included one son, Danny E. Cottrell; one daughter, Sue Smith, both of Springfield; one brother, Charles Bettis; three sisters, Connie Graves, Mabel Maxine Bettis, and Shirley Marie Bettis, all of Chillicothe; four grandchildren including Katrina McCoy and Deland (Jesse) McCoy; and one great granddaughter, Delania McCoy; several nieces and nephews.

Services were Tuesday at 1 pm in the Chapel of Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with Pastor Sam Wollum officiating.

Memorial contributions are requested to the I.O.O.F. Home 404 East McCreight Avenue, Springfield, Ohio 45503.

Betty worked very hard for her family and will be missed greatly, especially her daughter Sue. RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
