Warren M. Dunphy, 88, of Branford, formerly of North Branford, loving husband of Mary Maillet Dunphy, passed away March 29, 2014 at Branford Hills Health Care Center.

He was born in Hartford on December 26, 1925, son of the late Arnold and Noella LeClair Dunphy.

He graduated from Bulkeley High School in 1943 and then served with the United States Navy during World War Two. He worked for Exxon as a truck driver for many years until retiring. Mr. Dunphy lived in North Branford for 52 years until moving to Branford in 2010. He was an avid bowler and served as treasurer for the Suburban Bowling League and as treasurer for the Exxon Annuitants Club.

Surviving, besides his wife, are his children, Warren Dunphy and his wife Phyllis of North Branford, Nancy Wilson of Branford and Daniel Dunphy and his wife Louise of Guilford; his grandchildren, Dawn, Katherine, Rachel, Emily, Elisabeth; his step-granddaughters, June and Barbara; his great grandchildren, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Evan and Samantha; his sisters-in-law, Florence Maillet and Barbara Maillet Gasparini (Richard); and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Arnold Dunphy and his sisters, Arline Robideau and Catherine Eddy.

His funeral was held on Tuesday at Keenan Funeral Home, North Branford.

Burial with military honors followed in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
