He was a gentleman farmer and a well-rounded man in life. Lee was a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill and was a huge Tarheel fan. He obtained his law degree from North Carolina Central University and as a North Carolina General Contractor, Lee has built houses in Chapel Hill and on Topsail Island, North Carolina. He loved boating, fishing, hunting, photography, reading and motorcycling. Lee was a down to earth guy who fit in well in the laid back life style of Surf City. He was most comfortable in casual wear at his Beach side Law office, often wearing sandals to work. His warm and caring nature made everyone feel special and he would always take time to offer advice when asked. I will always remember his love for Fried Chicken Livers and Cubed Steak and willingness to try new dishes when offered. Lee is survived by his wife, Dorothy, the daughter he adored, Allison, stepdaughters, Mandy and Samantha, and his loyal dog, Chelsea. He was preceded by his first wife, Pat in March 2004. Lee died at his residence after a short bout of Cancer. He was 57.
