Allen Bell was born August 12, 1908 in High Springs, Alachua County, Florida. His parents are Leon Bell (B-1864-) and Mariah Bell (B-1870). Based on the 1920 US Census, Allen grew up in Florida with his parents and five siblings including: Peter (M) born in 1901, Frances (F) born in 1902, Frank (M) born in 1905, Allen (M) born in 1908, Jesse (M) born in 1909, John (M) born in 1912 and Larry (M) born in 1919 (Larry died before the 1930 US Census).

Allen enlisted on March 20, 1941 in Fort Thomas/Newport, Kentucky. Allen was 32 years, 7 months, and 8 days old at the time of his enlistment into the US Army during World War II. Allen was in the service for four years, 7 months and 2 days. At the time of his Honorable Discharge on October 22, 1945, Allen was 37 years, 2 months and 10 days old. At the time of his Honorable Discharge his rank was Sergeant. Initially, his position was Warrant Officer. Soon he joined the 1358 Engineer Dump Truck Company in the Army Corps of Engineers.

Allen Bell was married to Bertha Bell prior to his enlistment into the Army. Allen and Bertha had children that included: daughters Mary and Bertha, and sons James and John T.

Allen died on October 27, 1953 in Lincoln Heights, Hamilton County, Ohio. Allen was 45 years, 2 months and 15 days of age at the time of this death. He lived for 8 years after he was Honorably discharged for the US Army.
