Fred Elkins, a former resident of Hazleton, died at his home in Newark, N.J., yesterday. While a resident of Hazleton, Mr. Elkins was a pattern-maker at the Jeanesville Iron Works, and when the Worthington Pump Co. moved the plant to Harrison, N.J., he was transferred to Jersey. A native of Easton, Mr. Elkins spent many years of his life in Hazleton, where he was widely known. Surviving are two sons, William and Louis Elkins, both of Newark. The body will be brought to the Bachman funeral home on West Broad street, from where the funeral will be held at a time to be announced.
