Mr. James H. Nolan of Bartow died of heart failure Monday (March 3, 2003) at Bartow Memorial Hospital. He was 88.Born in Troy, N.Y., on Feb. 4, 1915, he came to Bartow from Zephyrhills 17 years ago. He worked for a paper company in New York for many years. He attended Main Street Baptist Church in Bartow.

Mr. Nolan is survived by his wife, Sallie Long Nolan; stepdaughter, Laura Clark, Bartow; stepsons, Denver Long, Clarence W. Long, both of Bartow, Jessie Long, Winter Haven; sisters, Mary Danbury, Katherine Rabeler, New City, N.Y., Evelyn Merrill, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, 650 E. Main St., Bartow. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Chapel Hill Gardens, Dade City.
