Dorthy Jean Storer Hurley, 89, of Rigby, passed away in Idaho Falls on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017.

Dorthy was born Nov. 26, 1927, in Rigby, Idaho, a daughter to Dell Roy Storer and Margaret Vansickle Storer. She attended Ririe schools, graduating from Ririe High School. On Feb. 23, 1947, she married Robert Hurley in Milo. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on Feb. 23, 1971.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the primary, in the primary presidency and in the Relief Society in the presidency and as Relief Society president. She loved traveling throughout the world with her husband. She enjoyed bowling, camping, the outdoors and reading.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Hurley Openshaw, of Idaho Falls; a brother, Brad Storer, of Idaho Falls; four grandchildren, Jeff Hurley, Jacob Openshaw, Chance Openshaw and Yasmine Openshaw; one great-granddaughter, Victoria Hurley.

She was preceded in death by her husband; three sons, Steve, Bruce and Mark; a sister, Alice Adamson; and a brother, LaVonn Storer.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m. in Rigby 2nd Ward LDS Chapel, 364 North 4100 East, Rigby. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Annis-Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
