Ara C. Adrian, 64, of Audubon Avenue, an opera voice teacher in North Providence for the past 12 years, died Tuesday at Rhode Island Hospital.
He had been an opera singer with the New York City Center Opera and the Metropolitan Opera Co. for 20 years.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Garabed and Satenig (Tufenkjian) Bagdigian, he had lived in North Providence since 1975. He previously resided in New York City.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
He was a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music, Boston, a Fulbright Scholar and had studied in Italy for four years. He was a member of the Rhode Island Opera Guild.
He is survived by two sisters.
