JEANETTE O. BRIDGETT, 84, formerly of Fort Wayne, passed away Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017 at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington. Born in Converse, Ind. on March 9, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Idell (Pochant) Pavey. Jeanette was a 1951 graduate of Ossian High School. She married Paul Ray Bridgett on Nov. 17, 1951. Jeanette worked for S.S. Kresge and Troy Towel Supply as a bookkeeper. She also worked for McDonald's in Fort Wayne where she was promoted to a trainer and was invited to attend management training. Instead, she chose to return to the Kmart Distribution Center where she worked for 25 years at Fort Wayne and Manteno, Ill. before retiring. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church and the Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne. She loved gardening, traveling to all 50 of the United States with her husband, teaching Sunday school, and spending time with her family and friends, she will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her. She is survived by her son, Neal (Barb) Bridgett of Bloomington; grandchildren, Emily (Chris) Hotard of St Louis, Mo., and Wilson (Shelby) Bridgett of Columbus, Ohio; and two great-grandsons; two sisters, Wanda (Jiggs) Hopper of Peru, Ind. and Berneda (John) Stinson of Wabash, Ind. She was also preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Kathi (Jeff) Bell, and one sister, Alberta (Dale) Warnock. A funeral service is noon Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home & Crematory, 4155 S Old State Road 37. Rev. Jim Roach officiating. A private burial will be at the Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne, Ind. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Arlington United Methodist Church, 1820 W Arlington Road, Bloomington (IN 47404).
