JOYCE MARIE ANDREWS

Joyce Marie Andrews, peacefully departed this life on July 31, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard,

sisters, Elizabeth (Libby), Mabel, Helen and Annabelle,

nephews, Billy Lampton and Albert W. Kizer, Jr.

and her parents, Walter and Mary Davis.

Joyce was born on March 8, 1925 and grew up in Rockville Maryland, and graduated from Richard Montgomery High School.

At age 19, she was introduced to Christian Science by a friend's mother, and held her faith close to her for much of her life.

Joyce enjoyed her career as a legal secretary, a career that spanned 56 years.

When not working, she spent time doting on her family, whom she loved immeasurably.

Joyce enjoyed art, painting, and craft projects as well as decorating her home with interesting pieces she would come across, mixed with nostalgic pieces from family members.

She played piano beautifully and had a singing voice like an angel.

She loved to sing, as music played an important role in her life up until her passing.

She had a love for classical piano and big band music.

Her favorite color was green, and one of her joys was appreciating the view of beautiful trees from her living room windows.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Andrews Wolfe; sons, Torin K. Andrews and Rick Andrews (Cherie); grandchildren, Kaya Thompson (JP), Ben Ambos, Sarah Printz, Chris Himes, George Matsuka and Julie Weber, and great-grandchildren, Kaelyn and Dexter Ambos and Lilly Thompson; as well nieces, Juanita L Kizer Smith, Nancy E. Kizer, Susan K. Kizer Mendelson (Michael), Jodie Kelsey (Brian) and nephews, Richard D. Kizer, Clayton Alderman and Tom Lansford; as well as great-nieces and nephews. Services will take place on Monday, August 7, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road (Rt. 109), Barnesville, MD 20838 (hiltonfh.com).

Interment will take place at the Rockville Cemetery following the funeral service.
