Viola G. Chambers, 89, of Palmyra, Pennsylvania passed away on Friday November 10, 2017 at The Gardens of Palmyra. She was the wife of the late Jimmie L. Chambers, who passed away in 2005.

Viola was born in Cotesfield, Nebraska on August 24, 1928 to the late Montreville and Nellie (Johnson) Cummings. Viola was a graduate of Scotia High School in Nebraska. She had worked in a grocery store as a meat wrapper. She was a member of the Eastern Star and United Food and Commercial Workers Union. She enjoyed cooking, Bingo, dancing, especially Polka, and watching Lawrence Welk reruns. After retirement, Jimmie and Viola spent 10 years traveling the United States as full time RV’ers. Viola had worked as a recreation director at several campgrounds during this time.

Viola is survived by her children, Sherry and her husband Patrick Kilgore of Lebanon, PA Jimmy Chambers Jr., and his wife Diane of Apache Junction, AZ, Deanna and her husband William Potter of Naples, FL, Randall Chambers and his wife Jeannine of Evans, GA, Candace Chambers of Savannah, GA, 15 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Viola was preceded in death by her son, Jerald Chambers, and her siblings, Clyde, Lloyd, Robert, Roy Cummings, and Irene Gorman.

A memorial service and burial will take place in St. Paul, Nebraska at the convenience of the family.
