LeRoy Emerson Divens, Jr., 64, of Sidney, passed away at 5:55 PM Wednesday, November 8, 2017 in his home surrounded by his family. He fought bravely against numerous medical issues over the last six years and is now at rest. He was born on January 26, 1953 at Coronado Naval Base in San Diego, California, the son of LeRoy E. Divens, Sr. of Sidney and the late Mary (Polhamus) Divens.
On May 25, 1974 he married DeDe (Burgess) Divens, who survives along with six children, Joshua (Jenny) Divens of Sidney, Jason (Jeanene) Divens of Campbellsville, KY, Jami (Aaron) Huling of Douglas, AL, Jada (Robby) Schwenger of Sidney, Jacob Divens of New Castle, Australia, and Jesse Divens of Sidney; eleven grandchildren, and one brother, Don (Joanne) Divens of Raleigh, NC.
LeRoy was a graduate of Piqua High School. He worked at Miami Industries / Copperweld for 30 years as a mill operator, until the company relocated out of the country. Afterwards, he obtained his welding certification from Hobart Institute of Welding Technology. LeRoy enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He also enjoyed watching sports with his dad, LeRoy Sr., who has made his home with the family.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 13, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, with his son, Pastor Jase Divens officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Memorial Park in Covington, Ohio.
