In 1930 she and her parents and five siblings lived on a farm they owned, with a mortgage, in Eden Township, Decatur County, IA. They did have a radio. Julian worked as a teller in a bank.

In 1940 she and her father two siblings--Miles and Ruth--lived there. Their home was valued at $4000. Ruth worked as a public school teacher, with an income in 1939 of $200 for 16 weeks of work.

Imogene Moorman, 93, of Winterset, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 6, 2017 at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 13, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church in St. Charles. Burial will follow the service in the St. Charles Cemetery, St. Charles. Imogene Frost, daughter of John and Cecile Frost, was born November 2, 1924 in Leon, Iowa. She attended school in Leon and graduated from Leon High School in 1942. Imogene was united in marriage with Archie Moorman on September 30, 1945 at the Leon Brethren Church while Archie was on furlough. He preceded her in death November 18, 2012.
Imogene was a homemaker and farmwife who enjoyed helping on the farm, gardening and canning. She was a very active member of Calvary Baptist Church who also sang for the church. She was also a member of the Farm Bureau ladies group. She enjoyed going to Jamborees at the Northward Plaza and attending Lawn Chair Night on the square. Imogene loved to attend all of her grandchildren's activities. Above all else, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who cherished the time spent with those she loved.
Imogene is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Jeff) Scheffers of Winterset; four grandchildren, David Moorman, Jennifer Hutchinson, Travis (Caitie) Scheffers, and Jessica Darr; five great-grandchildren, Ava, Camille, and Isiah Hutchinson and Emmalynn and Elias Darr; daughter-in-law, Velda Moorman; extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Archie; a son, Herbert Moorman; sister, Ruth; brothers, Julian, John Dean, Miles and Lyman Frost.
