Deceased was born in Shelby County in 1862 and was united in marriage to the late Dr. Samuel McDowell, of North Fork in 1883. She had been a resident of Elko Nevada for 25 years, but had lived in San Jose, California for the past two years. She had been ill for several months.
She leaves one daughter and one son, Mrs. Golda Griffith and Irwin McDowell, besides three sisters and two brothers; they are L. Fowler of this city, Smith Fowler of Monroe City, Mrs. Bettie Woods, Mrs. Emily Lange and Mrs. Alice Sharpe.
