Edith Lyle (Campbell) Gilleas, daughter of Mrs. And Mrs. A. H. Campbell, was born in Pitcher township, Cherokee County, Iowa, January 24, 1885, and passed away at St. Vincent's hospital, Sioux City, Iowa, July 17, 1934, age 49 years, 5 months and 23 days. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cherokee, Iowa. Funeral services were held at the Immaculate Conception Church Thursday at 9:00 a.m.

She was united in marriage to Benjamin J. Gilleas, March 28, 1910, and to this union were born two children, Jean, age 21, and Ben, jr., age 12.

Besides her husband, B. J. Gilleas, daughter Jean and son Ben, jr., she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Clara Campbell, two sisters, Mrs. Lettie Jones and Mrs. James Cary, all of Cherokee; and one brother, S. J. Campbell of Quimby, Iowa, A. H. Campbell, preceded her in death, October 19, 1923.

Moving to Cherokee with her parents in 1896, she attended the Cherokee public schools and grew to womanhood. The past few years she resided in Chicago, Illinois, and more recently in Sioux City, Iowa.

Her father preceded her in death.
