Robert Robertson, 86, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2007. Born in Portland, Oregon to Gustave and Gertrude Robertson, Bob graduated from Jefferson High in Portland, and then attended the University of Washington. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII and was stationed in Honolulu. After the war he married Doris Cassidy. They had one son, Phillip. From 1949 - 1960 he was an owner of Capital Tractor & Equipment, the International Harvester dealer in Salem. He then was a partner in Savdevco Construction. In 1966 he married Charlotte Shriver (nee Reynolds). Bob and Charlotte moved to Bend in 1973, where he worked for Brooks Resources at Black Butte Ranch. In 1993 Bob and Charlotte moved back to Salem to be closer to their family. Bob is survived by his wife, Charlotte; son, Phillip; daughters, Deloria Knickerbocker, Beverly Friesen, Kai Nordquist, and Roxanna Bryant; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.We will miss our husband, father, and grandfather. Many others will miss a wonderful friend. Services were held, March 22, at St. John Lutheran Church in Salem, followed by interment at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
