Gussie M. Goodenow Everden, 93, of East Springfield, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 1996, at Saint Vincent Health Center.
She was born in Elk Creek Township, May 9, 1903, daughter of the late James and Bertha Goodenow.
An East Springfield resident most of her life, Mrs. Everden had worked at the Model Works in Girard for many years.
She was a member of the Springfield Federated Church for more than 60 years and was active in its Golden Age Circle. She was also a member of the Noble Grand of Edres Dole Rebecca Lodge and the Springfield Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Forest J. Everden; a son, James Everden; a grandson, Barry Everden; a sister, Bernice Cottrell; and five brothers, Harry, Verune, Burdette, Roy and Lester Goodenow.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Steve (Elaine) Olesnanik of Lake City; a son, Arthur Boyd Everden of East Springfield; a sister, Velma Kaehler of Girard; a brother, Robert Goodenow of Spokane, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will not be observed. Friends may attend a memorial service at Springfield Federated Church, East Springfield, Saturday at 4 p.m. with the Revs. Edward Huntly, Marvin Davis and Wayne Augustine officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Springfield Federated Church or to the Springfield Volunteer Fire Department.
