John William Loveday, age 68 of Sevierville, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017.

Mr. Loveday was born July 30, 1949.

He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served from 1969-1972 during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Silver Star and Medal of Valor during that time.

He became a member of Oldham's Creek Baptist Church and was baptized in 1973.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Loveday; parents, Flora and Johnny Loveday, and Bertha Mae Maples; brothers; Glen Loveday and Bill Maples; sisters, Bo Noland, Billie Jo and Betty Jo Maples; father-in-law, Noah Carver; brother-in-law, Clay Carver; and nephew Charlie Loveday.

Survived by Wife Kathy Loveday Mother-in-law: Jane Carver Children Becky and Joe Green, Janie and Jeff Pressley, Tony Loveday, Glenn Loveday and Hillary Griffin, Clay and Lacie Loveday, and Andrea Howard Grandchildren Kathy and Jason Nix, Becka Green and Erik Howard, Mary Green and Arthur Miller, Donovan, Noah, and Tessa Quick, Jade and Joshua Loveday, Gavin and Hailey Griffin, and Kyley and Madison Wilson Great-grand children Summer, Anna, and Kattrea Nix; Kayla, Andrew, Lucas, Matthew, and Samuel Green Brothers and Sister James Loveday, Aileen Melvin, Ray and Dan Maples Numerous beloved nieces and nephews

The family will receive friends 4-6 PM Wednesday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 6 PM with Pastor Mike Beck officiating.
Interment at 2 PM Thursday in Oldham's Creek Cemetery for interment with military honors provided by American Legion Post 104.
