He is survived by 2 sons David (Beth Haas) Gallant, Marion, Kenneth (Laura) Gallant, FL, a daughter, Penny (Eric) Rees, Richwood, 3 grandchildren Keith A. (Ashley) Akers Jr., Jeff (Brittney) Gallant, Christy (Anson) Baldwin, 5 great grandchildren, and a brother William (Dixie) Akers, LaRue. He was preceded in death by a son Keith A. Akers Sr. and a sister Phyllis Stoner.
Mr. Akers worked at Marion Power Shovel for 18 years and at GI Plastics in Marysville for 5 years. He also owned a video store in Richwood for 22 years. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, watching westerns and football games.
