Mrs. Rose Etta Amon died at her home in Polk at 9:30 am Sunday. She was born near New Lebanon, Mercer County, July 19, 1859, daughter of Mary and Wilson Dean.
She was in her usual good health until Saturday when she suddenly became ill, and her condition rapidly became serious. She was one of the best known residents of Polk, having lived there 30 years. She was admired and respected by a wide circle of friends. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Ladies' Aid Society there, and the Eastern Star.
She married George A. Amon at New Lebanon 45 years ago, and he survives, with a daughter, Mrs. Irene Hays, at home; two sons, Guy D. Amon of Polk, and Roy A. Amon of Sharon; three brothers, K. C. Dean of Ellwood City, Milo E. of Grove City, and H. P. Dean of Meadville; and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 pm Tuesday at her home in Polk with Rev. Marshall of Latrobe officiating. Interment will be in New Lebanon Cemetery.
