Wilkes-Barre Semi-Weekly Record; Tuesday, December 29, 1896:
After preparing a Christmas tree and presents for the children and retiring in happy anticipation of Christmas joy, Mrs. John Wersinger suffered an attack of cramps last night and died before the dawn of day. Deceased was the wife of John Wersinger, coal and iron police lieutenant, and was 37 years of age. Six children survive her.
