"On October 19, 2019, at 99 years old, Kamiel “Emil” Blondeel passed to be with the Lord. He was predeceased by his wife Lorraine. Survived by daughters Pamela L. Kowalewski and Luna I. Joye, grandchildren Nicholas Kowalewski, Camille Silvi, Jessica Joye, and two great-grandchildren Dylan and Chelsea Kowalewski.
Kamiel proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. He retired from the city of Detroit with 34 years in transit. He decided he was going to continue to work delivering fuel oil in the city. Kamiel and Lorraine decided to follow daughter, Pam to California where they bought a ceramic shop to keep them busy for many years. Lorraine and Kamiel decided to really retire and moved to Florida. Kamiel loved life and his laughter was so boisterous, it made people around him laugh.
Kamiel's last goal was to walk his granddaughter Camille down the aisle to be married, and dance with her at her wedding. He got to accomplish his goal He was looking forward to reaching his 100th birthday, he was happy. Kamiel left a beautiful legacy. His memory will live on in our hearts forever.
Friends and family are welcome to gather on Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 9:00a.m. until 11:00a.m. in the Harold W. Vick Funeral Home, 140 South Main Street, Mount Clemens, Michigan. A memorial service will be held at 11:00a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Michael Cooney officiating. Inurnment will follow in Utica Cemetery, 46325 Shelby Rd, Shelby Township, MI.
