Polly Sue Dinning, 83, of Jefferson City passed away peacefully on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Jefferson City Manor surrounded by her family.
She was born on August 24, 1934 in New Bloomfield the daughter of Samuel Chester and Alpha Omega (Brown) Yancey, who preceded her in death.
She was united in marriage on May 19, 1983 in Sunrise Beach, MO to Mark Dinning, who preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of New Bloomfield High School.
She worked for over 20 years with the Missouri House of Representatives until her retirement.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading the paper, dancing, singing, playing cards with the gang and spending time with her family.
She is survived by: two sons: James Lowe of Phoenix, AZ and Tim (Chris) Berry of Jefferson City; one daughter: Debra Zeller of Jefferson City; five granddaughters: Melissa Mayer, Jennifer(Scott) Schwarz, Gabi, Katie and Karlie Berry all of Jefferson City. Four great grandchildren: Colten and Lydia Craig, Landon Wilbers and Lilly Schwarz. Brother: James Curtis(Sharon) Yancey and four sisters: Helen Replogle, Fresno, CA, Geraldine Brooks, Ruth Keown and Mary Patterson all of Jefferson City.Special friend and sister-in-law: Ruth Yancy and Sharon Yancy and Special friend and life-long partner in crime Sue Walker.
She was preceded in death by: two brothers: Hudson Brown Yancey and William Reid Yancey and two sisters: Carmen Lee Kolb and Norma Jean(Jeanne) Hatchadorian.
Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Slater-Millard Family Funeral Chapel. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Slater-Millard Family Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jim Shaver officiating.
Interment will follow at Dry Fork Cemetery in Guthrie MO.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to: Shriners Hospital of St. Louis, New Bloomfield Historical Society or Providence Baptist Church Building Fund of New Bloomfield.
