Ruth Elaine Walker

Ruth Elaine Walker, 85, of Caldwell, died Friday, November 3, 2017 at a local retirement center of natural causes. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.

Ruth Elaine Walker, born April 10, 1932 in Idaho Falls, ID to Wallace Kimball and Jessie Lucielle (Matthews) Pond. She later moved to Boise, ID. Ruth attended Boise High School and graduated from Boise Junior College. Ruth married Donald Eugene Walker in Boise, ID on March 26, 1954. They made their home in the Lakeview area near Lake Lowell in Caldwell, ID where they farmed and raised three children, Marsha, Matthew and Debra. Ruth worked for and retired from Idaho Power Company. Ruth and Don were very active in the community as well as in many social groups including a Supper Club and a Bridge Club. Ruth was also active in Beta Sigma Phi Sorority since 1953 and Lady Elks. Ruth and Don spent many winters "Snow Dodging" in Yuma, Arizona with several of their friends from this area.

In her later years, Ruth moved into Prestige Assisted Living at Autumn Wind in Caldwell, ID. Where she received the best of love and care. Thank you to all of the staff at Autumn Wind for your assistance, loving and caring for her.

Ruth is survived by a daughter and son in-law, Marsha Walker and Vijay Balan, a son and daughter in-law Matthew and Deborah Walker, two grandsons and their wives, Matthew and Ramona Crosiar, and Mitchell and Diane Walker, a granddaughter Danielle Carter, three great grandchildren Edwin Crosiar, Makinzy Walker and Kailee Walker, a sister and brother in-law Patricia and Jim Tovey, a brother and sister in-law Wallace K. and Barbara Pond and many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Don Walker, her daughter Debra Carter, her son in-law Curtis Carter, her parents and step-father Edwin Gould, step sister and brother in-law Lucille and Brendon Gardner.
