Born in Greenville County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Emily Willis Burdett. Lucille as she was known was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many and a member of Old Fashioned Baptist Church.
Lucille is survived by her 4 daughters: Rachel P. Darnell, Betty McCarson, Billie McCrary and Wanda Mealor; 4 sons: James R. “Butch” Darnell, Sr., Rev. Jerry S. Darnell, Elmer W. Darnell and David G. Darnell along with many loving sisters, brothers, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, Lucille was predeceased by a daughter, Carolyn Mitchell and a son, Curtis “Red” Darnell.
Burial at Holiness Hill Cemetery in Slater.
