Henry Aadahl, 80, of Conquest, died Sunday in Syracuse. Survived by wife, Kristi; sons, Joseph and Leroy; daughters, Elise Baughman, Carol Wallace, Sally Beaton, Karen Gade. Services: Wednesday at 6 p.m. in White Chapel Funeral Home, 2719 Erie Dr., Weedsport. Calling Hours: Wednesday 2 to 4 p.m.

Henry Aadahl, 80, passed away suddenly on March 11, 2007. He was born on Oct. 19, 1926, in Brooklyn, the son of the late Oscar and Olava Aadahl. Mr. Aadahl owned and operated Star Collision Co. in Farmingdale, Long Island, before moving to Weedsport in 1978. He continued in this field until his retirement. He resided in Conquest for the past 15 years. He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church in Auburn. He was an active member of the Sons of Norway, Oslo Lodge, Syracuse, where he had been serving as treasurer. He was well known for his Norwegian Rosemaling paintings and Folk Art work. He had spoken at several local community organizations about his art work. He would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with Kristi on April 8. He is survived by his wife, Kristi; two sons and four daughters, Joseph of Auburn, Elsie (Dr. Thomas) Baughman of Lewisville, Texas, Carol (Douglas) Wallace of Weedsport, Sally (Christopher) Beaton of Boca Raton, Fla., Leroy of Conquest, and Karen (Scott) Gade of Henrietta; grandchildren, Timothy (Melanie) Baughman, Kristi (James) Marriott, Douglas, Thomas (Gale), Robert (Nissa), James Wallace, Jennie Kennedy, Erich, Stephanie, Alex Gade; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Edwin (Elizabeth) Aadahl of Williamsburg, Va. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, at White Chapel Funeral Home, 2719 Erie Drive, Weedsport. Services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Donations in memory of Henry Aadahl can be sent to the Conquest Fire Department or the Weedsport or Port Byron Historical Society.
