Ronald George Shafer, 76, born Saturday, March 29, 1941 died Monday, October 23, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada due to an accidental burning of his lungs while using a grinder at home while wearing oxygen.

Ron was a Marine veteran.

Prior to marring his wife Carol in 1999 he was a bachelor for 59 years. His family and friends didn't think the marriage would last 18 days let alone 18 years. Boy he proved them wrong.

Ron and his wife Carol adopted Carols two grandson's, I believe they were about 8 or 9 years old at the time?

Ron was pre-deceased by his mother Opha Shafer in 2002, his brother Raymond Shafer in 1998 and his sister Gwendolyn (Shafer) Gulett in 2000.

Ron is survived by his wife Carol of Chloride and their two adopted sons.

Services for Ron were held at the Chloride Cemetery on Nov 2, 2017 at 11:30 am.
