Chester is the son of John A Arthur and Catherine Hannon.
He is a brother to Mary, Maggie, Catherine, Nellie and Albert Arthur. The family lived in Prairie Creek, Dubuque County, IA.
The first census showing him in the asylum, 1910, gives his year of birth as 1888. The subsequent ones show 1883 and 1881. The 1900 census with his family gives his date of birth as Feb 1887.
Chester was employed as a sheepherder when admitted to the asylum from Miles City in Custer County, MT in Jan 1909. He was in his early twenties then. His stay in this asylum is thought to be one of the longest of those buried here.
Chester was in care here 58 yr 7 mo 8 days before he succumbed to a myocardial infarction and uremia.
He had not married.
