BAIRD -- Christine Bryson Correll, age 90, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2007, at The Oaks at Radford Hills in Abilene, Texas.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 17th, at Parker
Funeral Home Chapel in Baird, Texas, with Charlie Bell officiating. Interment will be in Oplin Cemetery.
Christine was born March 1, 1917, in Oplin, Texas, to William Bryson and Hettie Allen Bryson. She worked hard on the family farm and graduated from Oplin High School. She married the love of her life, Selman Correll on November 12, 1938. Selman and Christine had known each other all their lives, both growing up in the Oplin area. They moved to Baird with their family in 1956, and were married for 65 years. He preceded her in death on November 3, 2004. Christine had a life-long love of keeping a beautiful yard and garden, and also loved cooking for family and friends. She was a Baptist.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter, Gina Shoemaker, 1 grandson, Donny Defosses, 1 granddaughter, Rachael Shoemaker, and her 8 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Melba Defosses and Doris Jaggars, both of Baird, TX.; 1 son, Charles Correll and his wife, Mary, of Baird, TX.; 1 sister, Minnie Grant, of Lawn, TX.; her grandchildren, Dr. Steve Defosses and wife Vicky and family of Colorado Springs, CO., Ricky and Maureen Defosses of Austin, TX., Donna and Bob Hanna of Abilene, TX., Jennifer, Ralph, and Christine Shoemaker of Smyrna, DE., Charles Paul Correll and Yvonne Correll, both of New Hampshire, Chris Correll of Abilene, TX., Paul Correll, Ricky Wayne Jaggars of Abilene, TX., and Jim Jaggars of Baird, TX.; as well as 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
