Clela Ann (Crone) O'Malley, 95, of 167 Thames Street, Thousand Oaks, California 91360, died Monday, May 29, 2017, at Los Robles Hospital . She had been a Conejo Valley resident for the past 50 years, coming here from North Tonawanda, NY.
She was born August 23, 1921, in Angola, Indiana to Floyd Leslie and Irma Anna (Parr) Crone and was raised on her family's dairy farm on Metz Road in Steuben County, Indiana.
After receiving her degree from Tri-State College, she worked at the Pentagon in Washington, DC during WWII. She married James A. O'Malley, Jr. and raised a family of ten children.
She is survived by five daughters, Maureen DeBose of Los Angeles, CA, Sandra Groveman of Poolesville, MD, Mary O'Malley of Fairfield, CA, Kathleen O'Malley of Fairfield, CA, and Jacqueline Bennett of Thousand Oaks, CA; four sons, James O'Malley III of Florissant, MO, Robert O'Malley of Seattle, WA, Charles O'Malley of Los Angeles, CA, and Patrick O'Malley of Trinidad, CA.; 25 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Grace White of Woodland Hills, CA and Ina Brockriede of Potsdam, NY. One son, Stephen Edward O'Malley, predeceased her.
She was a multifaceted, dynamic, confident, joyful, spirited, independent woman with a zest for life. She loved her husband dearly, her children and their families, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a tough cookie with a never ending love of learning and an inquisitive mind. She had a wonderful sense of humor and never bored with the big journey called "life."
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Paschal Baylon Church in Thousand Oaks on Monday, June 5, 2017, followed by a graveside service at Assumption Cemetery in Simi Valley.
