Mrs. Alvin B. Cobb
Mrs. Pearl Black Cobb, 88, of Beth Drive, Greenville, died Thursday, June 27, 1991 at Greenville Memorial Hospital following an illness of several months.
born April 8, 1903 in Mauldin, SC, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Anna Rhodes Black and lived all of her life in Greenville County.
She ws affectionately known as "Mama Cobb", and was a member of Leawood Bapptist Church.
Her husband, Alvin Baylis Cobb, died November 8, 1968.
Surviving are a daughter; two sisters, Mrs. Ann Black Tucker of Greer, and Mrs. Ernest (Arnette) Bretherick of Riverside, CA.; three grandsons; eight great-grandchildren and four great-great grancchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Saturday at the Chapel of the Thomas McAfee Funeral Home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6-7:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.
