Gary A. Eberhardt, age 65, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017, at his home surrounded by loved ones.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 2, 2017, at St. John Lutheran Church in Kellner. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services on Thursday at the church. Burial will be at a later date at St. John Lutheran Parish Cemetery. Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.taylorfuneralhome.net.

Gary was born April 19, 1952, in Wisconsin Rapids to Floyd and Millie (Jinsky) Eberhardt. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1970 and later Fox Valley Technical College. He served in the Army National Guard from 1971 to 1977 and was stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana.

In 1985, Gary married the love of his life, Cindy Schneider, and they spent the next 32 years together.

Gary was employed by the Marcus Corp. in Oshkosh, WI. After retiring early, due to poor health, he was able to pursue his many hobbies. Gary's hobbies included growing hostas, ferns and perennials, following Reba, antiquing and traveling the country with Cindy by his side. It really didn't matter what the destination was as long as he could find a good "Mom and Pop" diner and an interesting antique shop.

Gary had a passion for old cemeteries, anything to satisfy his sweet tooth, and music. He loved 50's and 60's music, the Beatles (the greatest band of all time) and of course, Reba McIntyre. Gary's greatest fulfillment was recently moving back to Kellner after 32 years, becoming closer to family and rejoining St. John Lutheran Church.

Gary will be missed by his loving wife, Cindy and their two cats: Toby (Best Buddy) and Abby (Baby Girl). He is further survived by his sisters: Sal (Jake) Moon, Cindie (Randy) Koch and Mary (Dave) Burgeson; brothers: Dave Eberhardt and Mike Eberhardt; mother-in-law, Rita Schneider; brothers-in-law: Joe (Val) Schneider and Jim (Gerri) Schneider; numerous nieces and nephews; and his aunt, Joan Jinsky.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Millie; father-in-law, Joe Schneider Sr.; paternal grandparents, Emil and Mary Eberhardt; and maternal grandparents, August and Coral Jinsky.

We wish to express a special thank you to our family and friends and neighbors for "Gary sitting" and the Aspirus hospice team for being our angels here on earth (especially Michelle, Flora, Lisa, Donna, Haley, Rhonda, Bill and Shay). We would also like to thank the Compassionate Friends group at St. John. Your visits have meant more than you may ever know.

"And finally to Cindy-love our cats so much that they still think I'm here with them."
