Alonzo H. "Lonnie" Custis Sr., of the 1000 block of Greer St., a retired sheetmetal worker and roofer, died October 22, 1991, in a hospital.

Mr. Custis was born in Norfolk. He had retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 35 years. He was the widower of Lillian Custis.

Survivors include three daughters, Lornell C. Butler of Greenville, S.C., Doris L. Barnes of North Brunswick, N.J., and Jacqueline C. Morgan of Chesapeake; a son, Alonzo Custis Jr. of Chesapeake; a sister, Etherlena H. Banks of Florida; and five grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Pretlow & Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Dennis Ellis. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park.
