Born Nov. 30, 1931, in Mahaffey, Pa., she was a housekeeper at Hiram College for 20 years, retiring in 1990.
She was a longtime member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, but what Eleanor loved most was any time spent with her husband, children and grandchildren. She was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Eleanor is survived by her husband, Jacob ‘‘Jack'' DeSalvo, whom she married July 7, 1951; sons Jack (Linda) and Larry (Joan); daughter Carol (Mike) Dye; brother Bill Beatty; sisters Geraldine Hanna and Rosie Decker.; grandchildren Amy, Sam, Becky, Sarah, Adrienne, Lori and Chad; and great-grandchildren Kaitlin, Logan, Parker and one to be arriving shortly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry C. and Mabel G. (Davidson) Beatty, and a sister, Nadine Campbell.
The family suggests memorial contributions be sent in Eleanor's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
