WAPATO - Carlotta M. Bond, 89, of Wapato, entered her heavenly home on March 12, 2007. She was born near Brumley, Missouri on May 30, 1917 to Josephus and Marinda (Phillips) Percival. She married Billie W. Bond on May 22, 1934 and they moved to Washington in 1948.

Carlotta worked for the Wapato School District as a cook for over 21 years, retiring in 1973. After retirement, she became active in volunteer work, helping senior citizens, Young Life, and other youth groups. She participated in the Wapato Police Citizens' Academy and often baked cookies for the fire and police departments.

Carlotta was an active member of the Wapato Christian Church. She taught Sunday school, prepared floral arrangements from her garden, played piano and organized potlucks. She enjoyed music, oil painting, gardening, crocheting, fishing and picnicking with family and friends.

Her greatest joy in life was her family and she is lovingly survived by her children; Wayne (Sally) Bond of Daytona Beach, Florida; Carlisle (Don) Ibatuan of Toppenish; Peggy Miller of Bothell; Cherie (Jeff) Bond-Brickey of Seattle; and Rhonda (Dale) Cyr of Spokane, twelve grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and two great great granchildren; a niece Joyce Watkins and several great nieces and nephews all of Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her husband Billie in 1974, a daughter Chrystal in 1939 and a sister Celeste in 1981.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Merritt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 15, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Merritt Funeral Home. Burial will follow at West Hills Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
