Funeral services for John Lafayette Adamson, 45, known as Phate, whose death came suddenly, on Friday, Oct. 5, 1945, were held Sunday, at the Good Hope Church, with Rev. Minor E. Cole, in charge. Burial was in the Hughes Cemetery. He was the son of John C. Adamson and Barcie Carilla Milan Adamson, and was born in Alexander City, AL., Apr. 29th, 1900. Mr. Adamson came to St. Francis county, 31 years ago, but since the war, he has been employed as a carpenter, in defense plants. He was married twenty five years ago, to Miss Emma Lee Alford, and three children were born to this union. Survivors include his wife and two daughters: Mrs. Clyde Laws and Miss Dorothy Marie Adamson; two grandchildren; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Adamson; and four brothers: Luther, Chester, Earl and George.
