Twala Jean Phelps Bledsoe was born on September 9, 1956 in Frederick, Oklahoma to Bud and Betty Kelsey Phelps and passed from this life on February 25, 2017 at her home in Durant at the age of 60 years.
Twala has lived in Durant the majority of her life. She married Kenneth Edward Bledsoe on October 18, 1980. They were blessed with 33 years together until Kenneth’s passing on January 6, 2014.
She worked for Golden Peanut Company in Durant and was a devoted homemaker to her family. She was of the Baptist faith and she enjoyed watching TV. Twala had a big heart for everyone often contributing to children’s charities and contributing to the Choctaw Nation which she was a proud member.
Twala is survived by her daughters, Michelle Palmer and husband Peter and Tiffiny Whittington; grandchildren, Tyler Whittington, Alisia Palmer, Aiden Palmer, Vincent Palmer, Jordan Smith, Billy Dale Whittington and Cutter Whittington; sister, Jenie Neely; brothers, Jesus “Buddy” Sellers and Alfred Phelps; nieces and nephews, Michael Horath, Jennifer Horath, Franklin Sellers, Nikki Sellers, Christopher Sellers, Crystal Sellers and Richard “RC” Sprowl and Brandy Sellers and numerous extended family and friends.
Twala was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Carolyn Jo Sellers and Loretta Horath and brother, Earnest Sellers.
