Margaret was born July 8, 1931, in Ogden, Utah, to Ralph Peter Andersen and Ruby Naomi Shupe Andersen. She grew up and attended schools in Ogden, Idaho Falls and Arco and graduated from Butte High School.
She met Raymond L. Jackson when they were both working at AEC (INL). They were married on February 5, 1953. To this union were born three daughters, Lisa, Lana, and Lara. Ray and Margaret made their home in Roberts. Ray passed away August 26, 1984.
Margaret worked at several jobs besides AEC. They included Garret Freight Lines in Pocatello, the U.S. Postal Service in Roberts, Sears in Idaho Falls and EIRMC switchboard in Idaho Falls. In 1997, she proudly opened her own business in her home. It was called "Ideal Answering Service." She and her staff answered after hours phone calls for over 100 local doctors as well as home health and hospice agencies and funeral homes, just to name a few. She sold the business in 2010.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many positions. She was a charter member of the Roberts Garden Club. She stood alongside her husband in many Lion's Club activities. She was a member of the Red Hat Society for several years. She served on the Roberts City Council for 16 years, vacating her position in 2016.
Margaret was sweet and soft spoken. She enjoyed sewing and stitchwork before her arthritis prevented her from doing so. She loved her frequent get togethers with her 49ers club. They were a group of girls who graduated from Butte High School in 1949. Her family and friends meant the world to her. She enjoyed many life-long friendships with anyone she came in contact with. Her lifelong motto was, "If you think a nice thought about someone, tell them."
Margaret is survived by daughter, Lisa Burke of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Lana (Gary) Wilde of Lewisville, ID; daughter, Lara (Don) Monroe of Ammon, ID; 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Maxine Shipley, and her five brothers, Don, Dale, Norman, Kay, and Val Andersen.
