Archie D. Yokeley, 98, of Archie Yokeley Road passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice. He was born on November 11, 1918 in Davidson County, the son of Damascus Roe and Mary Ann Garrison Yokeley and had made this area his home for his entire life. Most of his working life was spent as a farmer and he also ran Yokeley's Service Station. He worked part time at Ray's Cycle Shop before retirement. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed being active for most of his life and he loved riding motorcycles, his golfcart, fishing, and working in his yard and gardens until his health recently declined. He was happiest spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by seven siblings, and his beloved son, Mac Yokeley in 2007. On December 12, 1939 he married the former Harriett Sprinkle who also preceded him in death on March 14, 2017. Surviving are his daughters, Rhetta Anderson and husband Tommy, Sandra Teague and husband Jerold, Kitty Presley and husband Charles, Kathy Stark and husband Barry, sons, Gary Yokeley and wife Vivian, and Greg Yokeley, daughter in law, Brenda Yokeley; sixteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, and three great, great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be on Monday at 11:00 AM at Wallburg Baptist Church with Pastor Brandon Wolfe and Rev. Alan Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the graveside services.
