Thelma M. Hastings, 94, of Urbana died on Monday (Oct. 23, 2017).
Thelma was born on August 16, 1923 in Decatur, the daughter of William and Ruth Burk. After graduating from high school she married Lyle W. Hastings on July 11, 1942.
She worked for Orthodontists, Winter, Williams and Staley as a bookkeeper. She was formerly a member of Cerro Gordo United Methodist Church and the Junior Women’s Club. In her spare time she enjoyed bowling, gardening, needle craft and her puzzles.
Surviving are her children, Gloria Jeanne Hugh) Finson of Monticello, David Lee (Judy) Hastings of Paxton and Michael Lynn (Vicky) Hastings of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Joel Anthony (Mary) Hastings, Clifford Keith (Ron Hoppe) Hastings, Brandon Michael (Sarah) Hastings and Ian Michael (Jamie) Hastings and great-grandchildren: Asti Capri Hastings, Jolee Clara Rose Hastings, Alexandra Jay Hastings, Sydney Katherine Hastings and Ryan Patrick Hastings.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three sisters, Evelyn, Dorothy and Barbara.
