Mary Edna Guyer McFarland was first wife of Ernest Lee McFarland. The story I've always heard regarding Mary's passing, is that she died during childbirth. However, her death certificate notes cause of death as being due to pulmonary tuberculosis (duration of illness: year and a half).

Mary's youngest daughter, Jeanette, was born 3 May 1919. Mary died 22 May 1919. The dates of these two events being so close together is likely the reason I'd heard Mary had died during childbirth. A simple misunderstanding.

Mary had four children total with Ernest, all girls. Eldest to youngest: Indus, Hilda, Floey, Jeanette.

Note: Mary's married name is sometimes spelled McFarlan, other times McFarland.
