Betty Lou Darden Martin, 78, passed away on September 23, 2017, at 6:14 a.m. Born April, 9, 1939, she was a native and resident of Chackbay.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 7:30 a.m. until service time at Our Lady of Prompt Succor. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. with burial following in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Edwin Charles Martin; sons, Randy (Jeri) Martin, Doug (Twilla) Martin, Tommy (Denise) Martin; daughters, Melissa (Leroy) Cortez, Myra Martin; grandchildren, Megan Boudreaux, Jared Martin, Brooke Dempster, Sarah Martin, Kayla Martin, Kaitlyn Martin; and seven great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Agnes Oncale Darden; brothers, Johnny Darden, Dave Darden, Frederick Darden; sisters, Jeanne Darden, Laura Mae Chiasson; and an infant sister.
The family would like to thank the health care workers from Thibodaux Regional and St. Catherine's Hospice.
