Betty Sue Hubbard Burns, 86, of Connelly Springs, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at her residence, following a period of declining health.

Mrs. Burns was born February 19, 1931 in Maryville, TN to the late Raymond E. Hubbard and Mamie Gossage Hubbard.

She was a retired seamstress and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, James, Joe, Paul, Frank, Robert and Bill Hubbard.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Malcolm Burns of the home, seven children; George D. Harris and wife Deborah of Connelly Springs, Sandra H. York and husband Cecil of Lexington, Patricia Martin of Pinehurst, Robert A. Harris and wife Karen of Morganton, Debra W. Smith and husband Richard of Hildebran, Tracie W. Lowman and husband Joe of Granite Falls, and Terry L Burns and wife Teresa of Drexel. Also surviving is one brother, Charles Hubbard of Valdese, twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and two more on the way, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with Rev. Rocky McClendon officiating. Interment will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.
