Wife of Hugh Patton
Mrs. Carol Jones Patton, 70, of Sharpsburg, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017, at her home. Mrs. Patton was born September 20, 1947, in Pasadena, California, daughter of the late Byron K. "Jack" Jones, Jr. and Dora Mae Burge Jones. She lived in Coweta County most of her life, was a member of Mt.
Gilead United Methodist Church, and retired after working more than thirty years at First American Bank, Bank of Coweta, and Meriwether Bank and Trust in Luthersville. She was a beloved Nana and devoted her retirement to her granddaughters. Survivors include her husband, Hugh Patton of Sharpsburg; daughter and son in-law, Jaime and Anthony Long of Sharpsburg; and granddaughters, Taylor Beigle and Kinley Long.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Patton and her brother, Byron Edward "Butch" Jones. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 21, at Luthersville Baptist Church. The Reverend Greg Morris will officiate and interment will be in Sharpsburg Baptist Church Cemetery.
