Luther Raymond Webb, age 90, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Saturday morning, October 21, 2017, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.

He was born on September 2, 1927, south of Cherryvale, Kansas at Corbin City in Drum Creek Township, to Grover C. "Shorty" Webb and Jennie D. (Hopkins) Webb.

He graduated from the Cherryvale High School Fighting Cherries class of 1945 and was a member of the schools undefeated football team of 1943.

He served in the US Army at Ft Leavenworth, Kansas from 1945-1946.

After his military service, he was manager of Gooch Feed Mill in Cherryvale, where he then owned and operated Webb Brothers Produce. In 1951 he discovered his skill and passion for manufacturing management at Continental Can and Olin-Dixon in Coffeyville. He continued in production management at Aerostar Aircraft in Kerrville, Texas; and then at FM Thorpe Thorco in Lamar, Missouri. From 1974-1988, he was the production plant manager at Dixon Industries in Coffeyville, where he then owned and operated J.T. Industries until his passing.

He served as president of the Cherryvale Jaycees and was a member of the Lamar Lions Club, and the Coffeyville American Legion .

On July 15, 1960 he married Barbara Jean Wallace in Nowata, Oklahoma and they were married for 56 years.

Survivors include two sons, James R. Webb (wife Shawna) and Thomas R. Webb; one grandson, Christopher T. Webb; one sister, Freda P. Webb; and one sister in-law Martha L Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and one brother, Wilbur M. Webb.
