Our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, Nellie Loraine Harrison returned to her heavenly home, surrounded by her family, at the age of 85 on October 18, 2017 in Vernal, Utah.

Nellie was born March 29, 1932 to Melvin Henry Roberts and Elmira Aurelia Allred in Cedar View, Utah. She was one of 10 children.

She married the love of her life, Daniel Oliver Harrison on June 28, 1952 in Maeser, Utah. They were later sealed in the Manti Utah Temple on May 5, 1962.

Nellie was a woman with extraordinary talents. She is widely known for her crocheted baby booties and her many beautiful quilts.

While raising her young family, she also worked as a telephone operator for Mountain Bell in Rangely, Colorado and in Vernal, Utah.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held several callings within the church.

For several years she and her husband, Daniel managed the cannery and served as temple workers in the Vernal Utah Temple.

She is survived by her brother Melvin Junior (Lorraine), her five children: Danny Harrison (Susan), Roger Harrison (Leslie), Kyle Harrison (Donda), Diann Adams (Gordon), and Wesley Harrison, as well as 17 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, seven sisters, and one brother.

Nellie was a woman with a very quiet yet powerful influence. She is loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the Vernal 6th Ward Chapel (850 West 100 North).

A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Vernal 6th Ward chapel and from 1:00-1:45 P.M. Saturday prior to service.

Interment will be in the Rock Point Cemetery under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
