NORFOLK - Jesse Ernest Sellers, 67, husband of Mrs. Ioda Broadwell Sellers and a son of George and Mrs. Catherine Futrell Sellers, died at a Norfolk hospital Tuesday at 4 p.m.
Besides his wife, he is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Dempsey E. Morris and Mrs. Dewey S. Talton, both of Norfolk, Mrs. E. J. Hale of Wilmington, N.C.; Mrs. C. A. G. Thomas of Rocky Mount, N.C., and Mrs. Lewis E. Coffman of Staunton; two sons, W. E. Sellers of Tallahassee, Fla., and M. E. Sellers of Wilmington, N.C.; four sisters, Mrs. A. Z. Thompson Sr. of Sema, N.C., Mrs. Willie Wood and Mrs. Stella Hatcher of Kenly, N.C., and Mrs. Minnie Nichols of Kannapolis, N.C.; 31 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Sellers was a native of Johnston County, N.C., and had been a resident of Norfolk for four years, residing at 3215 Brest Ave. He was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Pinero.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Thursday at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park.
