He was born July 12, 1931 in Pacoloma California and joined the Army on August 5, 1948.
Benjie was assigned to M Company, 34th Infantry Regiment of the 24th Infantry Division stationed in Japan.
He later went to Korea with that unit and was captured on July 8, 1950 by the North Korean Army. He was released from captivity on 28 August 1953 and came to the states by ship.

In POW camps he usually was on the water detail. He looked so very young and he was always helping his fellow POWs along the way. 58% perished in captivity. He always kept faith with his country which he loved so very much.
Benjie leaves his wife Virginia, son Ron, 2 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
Benjie fell on his back and while in the hospital cancer was found and took him from us.
