Dorothy Simmons Baggett, 82, of Barto, MS, passed away, Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at her residence.

She was born December 15, 1932. She was the daughter of Henry and Marie Gill Simmons.

She is preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Lois S. Neal, Donis S. Henderson and Genieve S. Ard.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Baggett of Barto; three daughters, Robbin Anthony Barra Joey of Barto, Heidi Anthony Matt and Randy of Amite and Beth Henry of Amite; two sons, Dennis Baggett of Orange, TX and Malcolm Baggett of Denham Spring; one sister, Mev. Scalia of Loranger, LA; six grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher and Rachael McDaniel of Rhome, TX. Dustin Barr of McComb, Brooke Barr Ward and Mark of Barto, Paul Matt of Yelm, WA, Chris and Kristina Baggett of Orangefield, TX and Jonathan and Angela Baggett of Orange, TX; twelve great-grandchildren, Jacob McDaniel, Caleigh McDaniel, Andrew McDaniel, Asher McDaniel, Levi McDaniel, Kaylis Barr, Wyatt Ward, Addison Ward, Bree Baggett, Maddi Baggett, Zach Baggett and Bryn Baggett and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Friday at Holmesville Baptist Church from 9AM until services at 11AM with Bro. Lee Mathis and Bro. E.J. Dion officiating. Burial will be in Beulah Cemetery in Bolivar, LA under the direction of Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit.
