Elaine graduated from Bristol High School, Class of 1940, and Castleton Normal School in 1942 and obtained her teaching certificate. She married Bernard on 28 Jul 1945 and taught school at Robinson School in Starksboro. She then established a private kindergarten in her home which she held for 18 years. Elaine and Bernard made their home in Vergennes VT. In addition to two daughters who preceded her in death, she had two surviving sons: Bradley Edward BORDEAUX, b. 30 Jun 1950 and Kirk Gregory BORDEAU, b. 10 Jul 1952
